Virtual “VETERANS COFFEE”

April 21, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am

Good afternoon to all.

I hope to see you next Wednesday morning, April 21, for our virtual “VETERANS COFFEE”.

Our speaker will be Star Lee-Phillips.  Many of you will remember her very moving “in person” presentation to us about the appreciation she and her family have for Vietnam Veterans.  See brief introduction below:

Baohannah Lee and Star Lee-Phillips, mother and daughter, are Hmong Americans. Baohannah left her village in Laos to a refugee camp in Thailand with her family of 7 when she was 7 years old.  She arrived in the USA at the age of 9 in 1976 and became an American Citizen in 1997. Star is one of her 5 children that are 1st Generation Born Hmong Americans. With little being taught about the Vietnam War in school to Star, she relied on the stories passed down from her mother and elders, the side few Americans know of. Both of them are grateful for all of our heroes, Vietnam War Era Veterans, for their courage and sacrifice towards their people during a time of great need.

We typically have organizations that provide FREE resources, services and opportunities for Veterans and their family members.  We will ask some of them to introduce themselves and tell us about the mission of their organization,

Time permitting, we will also have our “Around the Virtual Table” self-introduction for those comfortable doing it.

Please share this invitation with Veterans and Veteran supporters you think might be interested in joining us for this virtual event.
