MITIGATING THE EFFECTS OF LONELINESS AND SOCIAL ISOLATION
Speaker: Kimberly Wilson, MSW, LCSW, PLLC
Speaker: Kimberly Wilson, MSW, LCSW, PLLC
Even before the pandemic, many older adults were lonely and isolated. COVID-19 has only made matters worse. Vaccines are helping some, but it may still be a while before older adults can interact freely and safely with family members and friends. Kim, who is no stranger to the Coalition of Ministries for Older Adults, will help us consider practical ways to ease the detrimental effects of isolation and loneliness. She will draw on her previous work at Wake Forest’s Memory Counseling Program and her current work with older adults as a therapist in private practice.
