The Coalition of Ministries for Older Adults
Sponsored by The Shepherd’s Center of Greater Winston Salem
will meet virtually on THURSDAY, OCTOBER 6, 2022

PROJECT C.A.R.E.
Caregiver Alternatives to Running on Empty

Speaker: Karen Phoenix
Project C.A.R.E Family Consultant
Western Piedmont Council of Governments

Project C.A.R.E is a state funded dementia-specific support program for family caregivers. A family consultant provides comprehensive support for caregivers who are caring for someone at home with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia. Project C.A.R.E. family consultants assist caregivers with education, resources and access to vouchers to alleviate caregiver stress.

Karen’s vast knowledge comes from years of experience in working with families who are facing the challenges of caring for a loved one with dementia. She will tell us all about Project C.A.R.E. and how to refer caregivers for this service. She will also share some of her experiences with supporting caregivers and what those experiences have taught her.

Please join us to learn more about this valuable resource.
