What’s the Role of a Long-Term Care Ombudsman?

Speaker: LaTonya Smith
Long-Term Care Ombudsman, PTRC Area Agency on Aging

LaTonya has a rich background in long-term care. She has been a Nursing Home Social Worker since 2001 and worked in a Forsyth County nursing facility for ten years before joining the staff of the Piedmont Triad Regional Council in 2019. She will talk about what an Ombudsman does and her role as an advocate for residents’ rights in long-term care. She will also address the issues and challenges which have resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic.
