Topic: Exploring the Benefits Cliff
Speaker: Vivian Pérez Chandler, Executive Director, The Asset Building Coalition of Forsyth County
Has your business ever lost a good employee right after they got a raise? Income increases can lead workers to lose eligibility for public benefits like housing subsidies, childcare vouchers, and SNAP. Often, it’s costlier to work or get promoted than to remain unemployed. This issue is known as the “benefits cliff.”
Join us to learn more about the benefits cliff and how it affects both employers and employees. The Asset Building Coalition of Forsyth County is one of the local organizations leading a conversation about the benefits cliff and living wage.
Feel free to invite businesses that are interested in building a better community.
Please register to attend at the link below. We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, January 23!
